From July 16 to 19, 2026, the historic city of Ouro Preto, in Minas Gerais, Brazil, will host Art
Ouro Preto, the first international contemporary art fair in the history of the state.

The event will take place at the Vila Galé Collection Ouro Preto, bringing together galleries
and artists from different parts of the world in an environment where contemporary art meets
one of the most remarkable historical settings in South America.

Rather than beginning as a large-scale event, the first edition of Art Ouro Preto has been
deliberately conceived as a carefully curated starting point. The intention is to open a new
platform for contemporary art outside the traditional centers of the global art market, creating
an atmosphere that encourages attentive viewing and meaningful dialogue between artworks,
artists, and audiences.

Ouro Preto offers an exceptional setting for such an initiative. Internationally recognized for its
historic and artistic heritage, the city provides a natural and harmonious backdrop for
contemporary art, allowing visitors to experience artworks in a context where culture,
architecture, and landscape coexist in a unique way.

The fair will take place within the calendar of the renowned Ouro Preto Winter Festival, one
of the most important cultural and artistic events in South America. During this period, the city
becomes a vibrant meeting point for artistic and intellectual activities, further expanding the
cultural reach of the fair.
Organized by Parcus Gallery, a

European institution dedicated to the international promotion
of contemporary artists, Art Ouro Preto aims to contribute to establishing Minas Gerais, and
especially the region of Ouro Preto, as a new international hub for contemporary art.

In addition to the booths, galleries will have access to spaces around the central gardens, in the “Galeria dos Arcos,” to exhibit additional works and direct visitors to their stands.  Each gallery is required to acquire a designated length of these spaces, according to the size of its booth.
